Programmatic CDM Project Using Municipal Organic Waste of Towns (City Corporations/Municipalities) in Bangladesh

Client: Department of Environment, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of Bangladesh
Description of work: More than 70 percent of municipal solid waste in Bangladesh is biodegradable (organic), as such an enormous potential exists to convert organic waste into compost to improve existing operations and to provide positive economic and environmental benefits, including increased revenue generation through carbon co-financing and Clean Development Mechanism. This project is in line with low carbon development strategy of Government of Bangladesh. Waste Concern Consultants is serving as technical advisor to the Department of Environment to prepare the PoA, CPA, design of compost plants, preparation of PPP documents, capacity building of municipal officials during implementation of the project.
