Description of work:

Prepare detailed work plan for providing advisory services to the two participating towns

• Visit Qui Nhon City and Matale to prepare pre-feasibility report on community based solid waste management and small-scale CDM projects on waste sector (landfill gas recovery, composting, biomethanantion etc)
• Assist in developing a preliminary planning and implementation schedule for each demonstration project in consultation with each participating town.
• Indicate possible sites for the demonstration project.
• Identify possible private sector partners.
• Recommend approximate dates for implementation of each demonstration project.
• Assist each town in estimating the inputs that they could provide and specify inputs, both financial and technical needed from ESCAP and other technical assistance providers.
• Outline possibilities for using CDM for financing solid waste management in each town.
