Description of work:  

The project supported the development of an institutional framework and capacity building for implementation of CDM projects in Bangladesh.

Activities performed: Developed policy guideline and institutional framework for implementation of CDM projects in Bangladesh. Drafted National Strategy for CDM. Developed the structure of the Designated National Authority (DNA) for CDM projects in Bangladesh. Developed CDM project approval process as well as sustainable development criteria for project evaluation and CDM strategy. Organized training programs on CDM for government and private sectors on potential CDM projects. Assisted in development of baseline and preparation of a business plan for a Landfill Gas Recovery (LFG) project in Dhaka. Developed awareness raising materials on CDM.
