Project Description

The position is available for a 36-month “Integrated Water Management in Urban Areas as a Core Task of Municipal Services of General Interest” Project supported by an international development agency. The duration of the assignment is 30 (thirty) working days over 03 (three) months from September 2024 to November 2024.

Senior Expert (Climate Action Planning)

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Expert (Climate Action Planning is a consultancy that supports preparing the City Action Plan (CAP) for two towns, Kushtia Paurashava and Savar Paurashava. His/her specific duties and responsibilities will mainly cover:
(a) guide and advice preparation of the climate change impact assessment questionnaire for conducting stakeholder consultation workshops in the project towns for their CAP preparation;
(b) undertake the assessment of climate change-induced risks, vulnerabilities and fragilities in the project towns and prepare relevant texts for the CAP reports;
(c) review the overall CAP reports of the project towns;
(d) guide, advise and contribute to holding town-level and national-level workshops on sharing CAP results;
(e) calculate GHG emissions and prepare the GHG emission reports for Savar and Kushtia Municipality CAPs; and (f) any other relevant tasks as assigned by the Project Director.

Requirements

• At least M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering/Environmental Engineering/ Environmental Science/Environmental Management/any relevant discipline from any reputed university with experience in energy, environment, and climate change.
• Candidates with PhD in the above-mentioned fields will be given priority.
• The candidate must have at least twenty years of relevant working experience in climate change and development-related projects supported by development partners.
