Description of Work:
Bangladesh has initiated the development of its National Action Roadmap to address the pressing issue of plastic pollution. The roadmap will be built with cross-sector input, grounded in a quantitative baseline & informed by future scenario modelling. Following tasks will be performed by the Waste Concern Consultants:
- Collection and analysis of the primary data on entire plastic waste management value chain from the urban areas of Bangladesh.
- Provide deep understanding of Bangladesh’s plastic and waste systems, including stakeholder dynamics, institutional structures, and the political landscape.
- Ensure that project recommendations are grounded in local realities and can be implemented.
- Leverage their local networks to facilitate the formation and functioning of the Metrics Advisory Group (MAG).
- Support SYSTEMIQ in convening and engaging key stakeholders, including at MAG meetings and other consultations
- Facilitate dialogue and smooth coordination with relevant ministries, agencies, and local authorities.
- Provide insights on the informal waste sector.
- Review summaries, draft outputs, and provide guidance on assessment outcomes and recommendations.
- Contribute to the tailoring of roadmap recommendations to ensure they are feasible and actionable within the Bangladesh context.
