Pre-feasibility Study Solid Waste Management for Two Cities In Bangladesh

Description of Work:

The project aims to develop effective solid waste management systems for two cities in Bangladesh. SweepSmart will serve as the lead consultant for the assignment. Initially, Waste Concern Consultants will act as the sub-consultant responsible for conducting the pre-feasibility studies for the two cities. Following tasks will be performed by the Waste Concern Consultants:

  1. Preliminary data collection (desk-based research) based on data requirement sheet and synthesis of data and analysis of baseline.
  2. Gather existing studies, technical reports, master plans, and policy documents (desk based research) and conduct high-level review.
  3. Synthesis of data and develop: value chain mapping, waste composition, waste projection, waste flow mapping, and infrastructure identification.
  4. Define land requirement for each evaluated technology incl. buffer zones, operational space, ancillary facilities, and future scalability needs.
  5. Develop cross-cutting gender and climate considerations for shortlisted intervention options.
  6. Preliminary assessment of environmental risks, social risks and mitigation for the proposed interventions and develop risk matrix for environmental, and social risks.
  7. Analyze required regulations and compliance requirements.
  8. Provide comprehensive support to SweepSmart across all project activities.
