Description of work:
The prefeasibility study explored the potential of energy generation from septic tank and pit latrine sludge as a climate change mitigation option. Moreover, the prefeasibility also explored the potential of refuse derived fuel from sludge of Pagla Sewerage Treatment Plant of DWASA.
Activities performed: Designed the experiment in a biogas plant using faecal sludge as feed stock. Collected data on gas generation as well as electricity generation. Analyzed feed stock in terms of chemical composition as well as calorific value. Prepared the pre-feasibility report including business plan for a pilot project.
