Description of work:  

The project activities comprised of the following: baseline survey, design and support in relation to the operation and treatment of the faecal sludge management system, and development of business plan and policy document on faecal sludge management.

Activities performed: Conducted a baseline survey on the sanitation situation in Kushtia municipality and designed a faecal sludge collection, treatment, and recycling system.  Prepared cost estimates for the project. Monitored the performance of the faecal sludge collection and treatment system. Monitored laboratory analysis of the treated wastewater. Prepared policy paper on faecal sludge management. Prepared business plan for faecal sludge management for Kushtia municipality.
